A CNAM Delegation in Ankara

Publiée le : 22 June 2006

The Turkish Ministry of Labour and Social Security and Institution for Social Insurances (SSK) have expressed a wish for closer interactions with the CNAMTS.

To this end, a French delegation, led by the CNMATS chair, Michel Régereau, arrived in Ankara on April 2005 to attend a presentation outlining the legal and administrative structure of Turkey’s social security system and its remit, as well as provisions for funding, access to hospital care and management of drug flows. The French delegation in turn presented the fundamentals of the French health insurance system including coverage of hospital and medical costs and medicinal drug use in France. It also outlined the reform of health insurance pursuant to the Act of August 2004, including the new system of patient pathways.
The meeting concluded with promises of further exchanges, including:
- the visit of a Turkish delegation in November 2005 to witness France’s health insurance information system,
- the future visit of a French delegation to Turkey to observe ongoing health insurance projects in that country.
The CNAMTS has also facilitated contacts between Turkish officials and the CNAF (National Family Fund) and EN3S (National School for Social Security) - also with a view to bilateral exchanges.
