The CNAMTS Meets with Mauritanian Officials on the Theme of Information Systems

Publiée le : 22 June 2006

The Mauritanian authorities wish to create a national health insurance fund which in a first stage would cover public sector employees, members of parliament, military personnel and the retirees of those groups.

Their first priority was to set up a computerised system to meet the operational needs of such a fund and to optimize the health insurance process, i.e. the administration of beneficiaries, handling of claims and reimbursements, cost modelling, risk management, etc.
In May 2006 a delegation composed of Mauritanian directors in charge of information systems, planning, actuarial valuation, operations and accidents met with CNAMTS managers responsible for information systems, information, research and statistics as well as managers of the local health insurance funds (CPAM) and data processing centres. The aim was to present French projects in these areas, and explore future avenues of action in the light of the requirements formulated by our Mauritanian partners.
