Charente MSA Projects in Burkina Faso

In recent years, the MSA fund of Charente-Maritime has organised several cooperation projects with Burkina Faso, most of which were implemented in the Hauts Bassins region in the south-west of the country.
The Charente fund provides training and assistance in creating mutual health funds. Since January 2006, the Saintes fund and two experts from the MSA Africa Group have been involved a modelling project with a view to developing a farmers’ mutual fund at the request of Burkina cotton growers. This work should lead to a pilot project in the province of Houet, as well as programmes to raise awareness about the mechanism of the mutual aid system.
