Subjects addressed during talks with Quebec’s Ministry of Health and the SSQ, Mutual Management Coorporation, included prescription drug coverage. As distinct from the French system which combines public and private health care coverage, health insurance in Quebec is essentially public. Other notable features of the Quebec system are its arrangements for controlling expenditure and evaluating health-sector professionals. Despite these differences, there are possibilities for partnerships in certain areas.
